On your way to ‘The Bay of Plenty Country Estate’, you will see the cityscapes of the port city of Mount Maunganui, to kiwifruit country and the iconic kiwifruit orchards, past Māori settlements and marae (Māori meeting places), dairy farms, and forests.
On arrival at the Country Estate, you will be driven through the 800-acre property to view the park-like grounds, unique residences, and extraordinarily varied treescapes.
The Country Estate host Ian and Nessie will welcome you to the Hunting Lodge on the property where you will be invited to enjoy an open-country style BBQ banquet lunch featuring a carvery of beef, venison and wild pork meats, summer salads, breads, and fruits. Matched NZ wines and craft beers will complement the NZ food experience.
The hosts will share the very interesting history of the Estate with it being developed by a German billionaire industrialist, and once being an internationally renowned Pheasant Shoot venue, and an equally renown Clay shooting destination.

After the visit to the Estate, the tour will take a different route back to the ship, and on the way, stopping at a local Village Hall to taste fresh green and gold kiwifruit, juice and liqueurs, and browse for local gifts and mementos of your visit to the bay of Plenty.
